In the last 30 years, the continually-growing Smeraglia team have dedicated their lives to learning everything they can about this wonderful dog breed.
After decades of research, documentation, and training, we are the Goldendoodle experts with more experience and knowledge with English Goldendoodles than anyone in the world. And it shows in our puppies.
Smeraglia’s English Goldendoodles have been featured on television, have been seen with (and adopted by) celebrities, and are requested from all around the world. We are widely recognized as the standard of Excellence in Goldendoodle breeding.
We’re very pleased with the Reputation for Excellence that we’ve built over the years. What is most rewarding to us, however, are the stories we’ve received from families over the years. Especially our Goldendoodle service and therapy dog families. Knowing that our puppies are now improving the quality of life for children and adults with disabilities, veterans, and many others is very special to us.
Unlike large networks of breeders, Smeraglia is a family home business based on our farm in South Alabama. Our entire family, including five children and four grandchildren, along with our trained staff, work hands-on with every puppy. We believe in maintaining high moral standards and meticulous care. Every puppy is born and raised under our direct supervision, with 24/7 care from our team. Our puppies see the same familiar faces daily, creating a consistent and nurturing environment. We have highly credentialed staff, including Vet Techs and veterinarians, overseeing our program right here on our farm. This personal, hands-on approach ensures that we know every puppy intimately, from birth to adoption.
Our puppies are raised in a loving environment right here on our farm by our family and dedicated, trained staff. There is always someone with our puppies 24/7 to ensure they are constantly monitored. We evaluate their mental, physical, and medical conditions continuously, allowing us to address any issues promptly. This level of care ensures our puppies are well-adjusted and healthy, ready to join their new families.
All five of our children have been raised in this family business and have worked diligently through the years, even after they moved away or married. They all came back home because they wanted to be a part of the business. We are raising our grandchildren in the business as well, creating a legacy that we are handing down to future generations. Our reputation is stellar because this is not just a fast money-making operation; it is a generational legacy. Families that started with us in the beginning now have their children adopting our puppies for their grandchildren. This legacy extends to our Doodle family as much as our own family, and we are thankful for everyone who has been a part of this journey.
Our adoption pricing is comparable to other breeders who offer the same health guarantees and health screenings that we do. A lot goes into what we do—years and years of knowledge and education are invested in our puppies. Our prices reflect the quality and expertise we provide, as we are the original breeders and creators of the English Goldendoodle, the Teddy Bear Twoodle, and the Teddy Bear Schnoodle. Our knowledge and expertise are invaluable. While we don’t have a network of breeders, our longstanding relationships with veterinarians and professionals in the dog world help us keep our prices competitive.
Additionally, we offer discounts for repeat customers:
• Second Puppy: Full deposit amount discounted
• Third Puppy: $350 discount
• Fourth Puppy: $450 discount
• Fifth Puppy: $550 discount
These discounts foster a sense of community and family legacy. Many of our original clients now have their children adopting our puppies for their own families, creating a multigenerational legacy of happy Smeraglia families.
If your application is accepted and your deposit is placed, you are not locked into a particular litter. You have the option to pass on litters as they become available, allowing you to get the exact Doodle puppy you want at the timing that works best for you.

And continues for 16 weeks or longer, depending on the needs of our adoptive families. From the day our puppies are born, they are never left alone. They are loved, cared for, interacted with, and watched over 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

*Please Note: Please note, you are able to do additional weeks beyond and in between the established programs. (3 weeks, 9 weeks, 14 weeks, 22 weeks) In Blocks 3 and 4, The training is more client-focused and we take the foundations laid in the first two blocks and now transition them to fit the lifestyle of their new family. The Goals vary based on the individual client and puppy needs.
We spend time each day with every puppy to ensure they are properly socialized and have good emotional health. We can honestly say: WE KNOW OUR PUPPIES.
We introduce all of our puppies to basic manners, obedience, and crate training from 6 to 8 weeks of age.
We have an incredible media team at Smeraglia's. We want our clients to see and get to know our puppies the best that they can. We’re proud of our babies! Our talented media team produces:
• Beautiful, professional-quality pictures of our puppies at 2, 4, and 7 weeks of age
• Videos of each litter at 7 weeks of age.

Here at Smeraglia, Temperament rules!
At seven weeks of age, we do a personality evaluation on every puppy. This allows us to match each puppy with the family who is the best suited for them. Once our puppies have their “glamorous” 6-week photo and video session, clients choose their first and second favorite, BUT… TEMPERAMENT RULES!
We understand that our puppies are all unique and exceptionally beautiful; choosing a puppy based solely on its looks, however, is not a good idea. If you and your puppy’s personality aren’t a good match, it can cause frustration for you both. We will ultimately match our client with the puppy from their group of favorites that is best suited for them based on personality.
Once you’re matched with your Teddy Bear Goldendoodle, you can choose to enroll your puppy into our exclusive Doodle Prep School and have your puppy trained before they come home. We have a variety of programs to meet our clients’ specific needs.
