One with low to non-shedding, allergy-friendly coats, big blocky heads, and incredible temperaments. To achieve this goal we keep dogs from each generation to produce our very unique Goldendoodles.
We are all about breeding for consistency, look & type. We base our whole breeding program on keeping and breeding the best F1 & F1B from our lines to produce our exclusive Smeraglia Doodles that everyone knows and loves.
The very first English Goldendoodle that we bred was an F1 Generation. This is the foundation of our breeding program. Everything that we breed goes back to the F1 English Goldendoodles.
English F1 Goldendoodle = English Golden Retriever X Poodle - 50% English Golden Retriever - 50% Poodle
The First Generation (F1) Goldendoodle is the result of a Poodle crossed with an English Golden Retriever. These Goldendoodle Puppies are 50% English Golden Retriever & 50% Poodle.
F1 Goldendoodles are compatible with most families with MILD allergies. F1 Sizes: Medium and Large only
Once we perfected the first generation F1 Goldendoodle, we realized that some of our clients were still experiencing allergy issues to them. That’s when we decided to breed the F1 back to a poodle which produced the second generation F1B back cross. This proved to be very successful for allergy sufferers and more families were able to experience the love of a dog.
English F1B Goldendoodle = English F1 Goldendoodle X Poodle - Approximately 75% Poodle - 25% English Golden Retriever
The F1B backcross Goldendoodle is produced by crossing an F1 Goldendoodle with a Poodle. F1B Goldendoodles will have a higher success rate for non-shedding and are recommended for families with moderate to severe allergies. The F1B Goldendoodle is 75% Poodle which makes this generation one of the most hypo-allergenic of all the English Goldendoodle generations we breed. F1B Sizes: Small, Medium and Large
Once we created our Smeraglia Type, and identified our most allergy friendly, lower shedding dogs in our F1 & F1B generations, we kept the best of these to continue our breeding program. This breeding allows us to produce the Smeraglia type that everyone knows and loves. We are all about breeding consistently for look & type.
F2 Goldendoodle = F1 Goldendoodle X F1 Goldendoodle - Approximately 50% Golden Retriever - 50% Poodle
The (F2) second generation Goldendoodle is produced by crossing the (F1 X F1 = F2) Goldendoodle or a (F1B X F1 = F2B) Goldendoodle.
They also have a high success rate for non-shedding and are recommended for families with moderate to severe allergies. F2 Sizes are: Small, Medium and Large

The Second Generation backcross Goldendoodle (F2B) is produced by crossing an F1 Goldendoodle with an F1B Goldendoodle or by crossing an F2 Goldendoodle back to a Poodle.
F2B Goldendoodle = F1 Goldendoodle X F1B Goldendoodle - Approximately 62.5% Poodle - 37.5% English Golden Retriever
This generation can work for families with moderate to severe allergies. Many families desire this breeding because it can have a little more Golden Retriever than the F1B. Most are low to non-shedders. F2B Sizes: XS, Small, Medium and Large.
A Muti-Gen Goldendoodle is a third-generation Goldendoodle produced by crossing the F1B or F2 with another F1B or F2 Goldendoodle.
F3 Goldendoodle = F1B Goldendoodle X F1B Goldendoodle - Approximately 75% Poodle - 25% English Golden Retriever
It has been our experience when breeding F3 Goldendoodles that a high number of puppies in the litter will be more prone to shedding, but usually not as much shedding as a pure breed Golden Retriever. Sometimes, they may even look more like the Retriever side of the family with a flat more sporty coat, rather than the soft fluffy Teddy Bear coats. This generation is often sought after from the Retriever lover that wants a smaller or less shedding Retriever like doodle. This is a more rare breeding. F3 Multi-Gen Sizes: XS, Small, Medium, Large, XLarge
