BLOCK 2 – Week 6

6 Week Stay & Train – $5,245

Our 5 & 6 Week Stay & Train includes everything in the 4 Week program as well as continued training benefits by introducing the usage of the three (3) “D’s” – 1) Distractions 2) Durations 3) Distance. This method will be added on top of what they’ve already learned. Example: Sit (with distance & duration).   Lures have been faded and rewards are now given for continually better behaviors.

Weeks 5 & 6 are big (and big fun) in the training of your puppy. Your puppy has now entered adolescence, and we expect to see them test limits and boundaries. Puppies usually hit a growth spurt around this time, and their energy increases as well.  This higher stamina allows us to extend training sessions and expect more results.  Potty training is becoming more consistent this week as the puppy is actively trying to go in the right places and hold it in the wrong ones.

Baby Steps

This program is not for anyone who wants a completely trained puppy. The 6 Week program represents 3/8th of our 16-week S.U.P.E.R. Puppy Program.  You are always able to extend your stay at any time.

6 Week Stay & Train Program

Training Overview

Puppies completing our 6 Weeks of training will have a stronger and more solid understanding of appropriate household manners, such as: not walking between your feet, jumping up, or destroying inappropriate objects. Jumping up, mouthing (puppy nipping), chewing are well under control at the end of this period.

Here is what you can expect from our 6 Week Training Program:

Potty Training

Puppies will begin to understand what is expected of them. Potty training has become more consistent as the puppy should be actively trying to go in the right places and hold it in the wrong ones. They will still require a great deal of attention to continue the potty training in your home, as well as reinforcement of all the rules we have been working on with them. Please keep in mind that it is not possible for a puppy to be reliably house-trained until the puppy has matured, which is usually between the ages of 6-8 months.

SchedulE

Your puppy will be on a schedule of eating, drinking, and going potty to make house training much easier. This schedule is based on your puppy’s needs at this point in training. You will receive a copy of this schedule.

Crate Training

Your puppy will be crate trained. Meaning in most cases, your puppy can hold potty 8 hours overnight and for a few hours during the day and should remain quiet.

Socialization

Puppies benefit from additional socialization, which means a more well-rounded puppy.

Feedback

Your puppy will know the feedback words of “good”, “nope”, and “okay” to aid in communication.

Behavior

Problems such as jumping up, mouthing (puppy nipping), and chewing are rare and easily redirected if mistakes occur.

Familiarization

Your puppy will be familiar with taking and following treats and wearing a collar and leash. Many new puppy owners do realize how important this is in the training process, and that this does not come naturally to a puppy. It must be taught before the puppy can progress in their training.

Obedience

Your puppy will have a progressed understanding of the obedience commands of knowing his name, “sit”, “down”, “come”, “touch” to say “hi”, and “leave it” with minimal difficulty.

GroominG

Your puppy will be introduced to basic grooming and maintenance such as brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and teeth brushing.

Vaccination

Your puppy will receive age appropriate vaccinations and dewormer as they apply to your puppy’s health schedule while in training.

We are dedicated to providing the right puppy for your family.
