The 8-Week S.T.A.R. Puppy Program builds on the foundations established in Prep School through continued training, socialization, confidence-building, and age-appropriate reinforcement. This program is designed to create a strong puppy foundation, but it is not intended to produce a fully trained dog. Families should expect to continue practicing and reinforcing training at home. Additional training time may also be added if desired.

🐕 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 + 𝐅𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬
Continued progress on commands such as 𝐬𝐢𝐭, 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭, 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡, and 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐢, with added difficulty, stronger focus, and continued fading of lures.

🐾 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 + 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐫
Continued work on polite puppy manners by rewarding good choices, limiting opportunities for mistakes, and building better control with jumping, mouthing, chewing, and gentle reminders.

🌙 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 + 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠
Puppies work toward up to 8 hours of quiet, accident-free nights, calm crate time during naps or rest periods, and more consistent potty routines. Continued reinforcement at home is still important as your puppy matures.

🏡 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 + 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞
Continued exposure to household sights, sounds, surfaces, transportation, new people, animals, and age-appropriate environments to support a well-rounded puppy.

🩺 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 + 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
Weekly health monitoring, age-appropriate vaccinations, and deworming are kept up to date throughout training.

📹 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬
Families receive weekly video updates showing their puppy’s progress, milestones, and training development.

🧼 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 + 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠
Basic grooming exposure includes brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, teeth brushing, and gentle handling.

💬 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬
Helpful communication words such as 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐞, 𝐨𝐤𝐚𝐲, and 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐭 are introduced to support clear direction and training.
