This is a wonderful food that can be dropped ship to your home. there are 146 cups of food in a 40lb. bag. A 50lb dog would get 2 cups a day. A 40lb bag will last a 50lb dog approx. 10.5 weeks. Puppies get approximately 3/4 of a cup three times a day, therefore the food last 8-10 weeks. The is the freshest most healthy food on the market.
Goldendoodles are a super healthy breed, but there is one issue that I have observed over the last 5 years. Some Goldendoodles have very sensitive G.I tracks that causes loose stools and bowel irritation. I have found that there are certain ingredients or preservitives in the store bought dog foods that many Goldendoodles do not tolerate well. The only reason that I was a bit uncertain about using this food in the beginning was due to the fact the food was sold through distributors, but after I met the veterinarian that developed the food and she explained to me her delima of not being able to sell to stores because she refused to put the preservative and additives in the food that was required and she shared with me all her amazing credentials, and why she used each individual ingredient, I was 100% certain this food was the best food for my dogs and puppies. Being Trained to the Bell Is A Great Way To Train Your New Puppy. Hang a large puppy-proof bell from a sturdy ribbon by the door, where you let out your pups. Every time you take them out, say 'outside' and jingle the bell. At first you will take them out often. For the first week or two they should be let out:
- when they wake up
- after they eat
- after they drink
- if they start to sniff and circle
- every 20 minutes or so while they are awake
Thankfully puppies sleep a lot. But the trick is to let them understand that outside is for relieving themselves. It's a new concept for them - but if it's clear, then they will understand what they need to do. The less accidents they have, the faster they learn. It takes some dogs only a few days to learn to ring the bell to ask to go out. (And for a while there, you're trained to the bell, because they go often - but it's worth it in the long run)
