About English Goldendoodles
Teddy Bear English Goldendoodles were founded at Smeraglia Kennel in 2001.
We are dedicated to the development and research of the English Goldendoodle breed. Our English Goldendoodles are produced by breeding a very specific line of beautiful English Golden Retrievers to a very specific line of Standard & Miniature Poodles (We do not use Toy Poodles). These special Poodle lines best compliment the build of our line of English Goldens. We call it our secret Formula.
It is important to know the difference between a light American Golden and a European “English” Golden. Our Foundation English Golden Retriever parents were imported from Europe, they have a very different look than the American lines. See my English Goldens.
Please be aware that I have noticed that a lot of websites have copied and pasted the text from our website word for word, It's very imporatnt that you check references and look at the adult Goldendoodles of any breeder prior to adopting any Goldendoodle.
Our goal is to produce a Goldendoodle that is more Golden Retriever with less emphasis on the Poodle.
There is so much more to our breeding program than breeding any old Golden to a Poodle, anyone can do that. We have a very strict criteria for the dogs that we breed, that's what makes our Teddy Bear English Goldendoodles so special. Our Foundation English Golden Retriever parents were imported from Europe. Every breeder has their own look within each breed, we breed for beautiful blocky heads , dense bone substance, stockier built, broader chests, and outstanding temperaments. These English Goldens compliment the sleek, narrow headed Poodle. The temperament of our English Golden Retriever dogs are very different as well, they are much more laid back and they are very calm.
You can look all over and you'll realize that our English Goldens are very special, there's not many Goldens in this country that match the looks and quality of our outstanding Sires & Dams.
Colors: Our Teddy Bear English Goldendoodles are primarily ultra cream to light blond, but we do occasionally have chocolate, black, reds and parti colors. When we breed our soft-coated English Goldens for F1 Goldendoodles, we have actually had non-shedding F1Teddy Bear English Goldendoodles.
