Reputation is very important to me. As a Christian, I live my life by the principles of the Bible.

There is a text in Proverbs that reads, "A Good Name is better to be chosen than great riches". I operate my business with his motto. We have worked for over 18 years with many families and have developed many wonderful relationships. Many of our puppies are placed from referrals from previous puppy owners. We have several second, third, fourth, and even fifth time repeat puppy owners. I have to warn you, our puppies are addictive and many people cannot have just one.

As with anyone who deals with people, issues can arise that needs to be resolved. Our goal is to always handle a concern from a client with the highest of ethics and fairness.

Dear Carol and Sherri: 6/24/10

Just a note to let you know that Izzy is every bit the best dog just like her sister Vivienne. After the second day she was totally at home. Each day that goes by, she walks on her leash better and better and actually went two laps around our circle for a mile and was very content to stay with Romeo, the old golden while we finished the third one. She loves Vivienne and Vivienne has really warmed up to her and they are playing very well. She has had a few accidents but we are pretty vigilant with her. She does indeed love her toys as you said. There are plenty to share and toys have not been an issue between the two of them.
and offered it for your puppy owners. Izzy is VERY well adjusted and I know I have a ringer!!!!!! Again please know how much I appreciate both of you helping me change in mid course without upsetting the apple cart. I gather I made the California lady's day, just like you made my day when Izzy came up on the website and you let me change. I have reached my doodle limit with two of these kids but I have to say they are the best dogs! I never thought I would love another type more than I loved Golden Retrievers. I love telling the world about Smergalia Kennels. WHAT A FIND!!!!!! Thank you GOOGLE!

"No worries about the references. Our 2 year old F1 Doodle, Bear, is a Delta therapy pet and a R.E.A.D. dog. We don't have small children at our house, but Bear came to my school as a reading "tutor" for 3rd through 5th graders. He is very gentle with children and LOVES them. My husband and I visited the kennel just to make sure a doodle was what we wanted (I already knew, but had to convince my husband), and left with Bear. You would be very impressed with the place and the dogs there. One of the things I liked best was that the dogs are socialized. There are cats on the premises and horses nearby, in addition to children and adults who interact with the pups daily. We don't have a cat (my husband is very allergic), but I take Bear to my parent's house and he gets along great with their cat, as well as with my brother's two cats and two greyhounds. My three year old nephew adores him!

"Dear Beverly,
Thank you so very much for all of your help. Tony and I were so very impressed with the kindness, patience, professionalism and efficiency with which you, Sherri and the staff at Smeraglia Kennels has demonstrated. I have dealt with many breeders throughout my life, but I truly believe you have them all topped! Great job!!
Baby Boy # 6 is wonderful. Since Baby Boy's last name is Ragone, we have decided to call him Rags. He has already met all of my students and was a huge hit! Our house has been filled with aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends that have come to welcome him and already love him. He is very, very smart and anxious to please. He slept the night and he is even learning to sit on command. We will be signing Rags up for his first puppy class when he is a little bit older, but we have already begun some basic training. We will keep you posted.
Thank you for making this so easy for us. Starting over has been very difficult, but you have managed to make the process so pleasant... thank you, thank you, thank you!
 Best wishes,
Tony, Denise and Rags "

" Hi Everyone! If you are a 'regular' reader of the Forum, you may remember reading about Noah - the doodle with a "bit of an aggression" problem, to say the least! He would growl, bite and show aggression towards me as well as my children. We were beginning to think that there was no hope for this little guy. Fortunately, we live in Mobile, Al - close to Smeraglia Kennel as well as Carol, the wonder trainer. I began driving to Carol's for biweekly sessions - but Noah needed a little more help. I ended up leaving him in Carol's hands for about 2 1/2 weeks. We picked him up on Friday and if it weren't for the little bump on his neck, I would think that she gave me a different puppy. She transformed him into this sweet little angel. He hasn't growled or tried to bite at all. He just wants to please us!! If we had it all to do over again, I would definitely have chosen to send him to Carol for Puppy Prep School. I think it would have made a huge difference in his initial behavior. She is absolutely AMAZING and I can't thank her enough! I also have to say that Sherri and Beverly stand behind their puppies 100%. We even decided to go ahead and get ANOTHER puppy from Smeraglia, even before Noah returned! We now have Noah AND Solomon. They get along great and are perfect for each other. They are wonderful!! Jill, Noah & Solomon HUGE THANKS to CAROL!! "

Carol buying over the web Tue Oct 14, 2008 07:54 asked:

"Hello ~ I have never purchased a puppy from a breeder without actually meeting the puppy. The idea is odd to me. Were you happy with the process? Has anyone ever gotten a puppy that they and the puppy just didn't get along? Any comments would be greatly appreciated!! "

Here is the response Carol received:

" Hi Carol,
I have two pups from Smergalia, and they are wonderful. Both Sherri and Beverly really care about where these puppies go. I told them what I was looking for in a pup and I got just that. I also purchased a third pup for my mother. My mom could not be happier with her new baby. You do have to be VERY CAREFUL on the web, but you need not worry about these babies. They are wonderful!
Good luck. - Kelly, Oliver and Arnold "

" I researched Goldendoodles and Smeraglia for over a year. This was my first purchase of a dog sight unseen! That is also how long I have been reading the forum. I don't recall anyone being dissatisfied with their puppy. A couple of people have asked about specific behaviors and have received advice from the forum. I was very specific about the temperament of the puppy I wanted. Beverly and Sherri visited with me until they had a very good idea of what I was looking for. I left the choice of the litter, sex, etc entirely up to them. I was willing to wait--or adopt immediately. I now have Calvin who is laid back, smart and beautiful. He is a non-shedding F1B Standard from Lilly/Jr...born July 2, 2008. (male puppy #1 in the archives) I am hoping he will be a therapy dog when he is older. - Sherri/Calvin/Pagosa Springs, CO "

" Carol, My wife and I purchased our wonderful Sophie without ever visiting Smeraglia Kennel. We spoke with Sherri one time on a Sunday night and within 10 minutes, we both had a "Warm & Fuzzy" feeling that this was the right thing to do. We sent funds and everything went smoothly. Upon arrival, it was love at first sight. 72 hours later, our veterinarian tested and examined her and he said, "you have a winner" The Vet was impressed that Sophie had pre parvo medication, worming, etc along w/ his negative parasite report. We trusted and it worked.... Sophie is 4 months old now and is a "Show Stopper"!   - Rock & Paula "

" Our 3 (Harry 3, Annie 2, Gertie 7 mos) have been just wonderful. Smeraglia is very solid, the folks are fine, and the dogs are bred for good health & sweet temperaments.

" It was also new to me purchasing a puppy over the net. I did lots of research over a 1 year period and found Smeraglia. Our Doodle will be 2 in December and she is the most wonderful dog we have ever owned. Not a day goes by that she doesn't make us smile about something funny she has done or is doing. She is 75 lbs full of love.
We live in Houston and when Hurricane Ike hit here last month in the night all 3 of us (Husband,Myself and Allie the doodle that thinks she is human) were in bed and of course I couldn't sleep so I got out of bed and took one look over at my husband and Allie, both were laying on their backs side by side sound asleep while the wind was blowing hitting the windows. That was one of those smile moments. You will not be disappointed these dogs are the sweetest most loving dogs I have ever be around.

Martha
